I am planning on buying a new computer and to save money I might just go with dual cards instead of one. I’m planning on getting Dual 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460 – SLI Enabled but I was wondering exactly how it worked. So far after reading I know that each card basically renders half of the screen but can anyone go into more detail?
**BTW I’m buying a Alienware comp, *good or not good?*
I am really big on multitasking things like Gaming/Videostreaming/Micro. Office/iTunes at the same time. I also need this computer to last me a WHILE because I’m definitely not rich haha. Do you guys think this graphics card will be good enough? Any recommendations?
***ALSO, does the dual cards work for everything I do? For ex. they only work together for certain games and not everything i do on my system?

I will be investing in a gaming rig from cyberpower pc in the near future. I intend to get a system with dual video cards. Two AMD Radeon HD 6750 1GB GDDR5 16X PCle Video Cards. I was thinking that a 1200 watt power supply should be enough. But since Im so new to gaming systems, I probably need as many good opinions as well as advice as possible. What do you guys think? Is 1200 too much or too less? And can I get away with more inexspensive cards? I only want a system to play Lord Of The Rings online with ultra high graphics and no lag, period. My current system is crap for any kind of gaming. Any and all advise appreciated. Go easy on me, Im still learning =)

I need to buy a new Mac system for video editing with Final Cut Pro. I plan to edit professional-level quality projects on this machine. An iMac is much more cheaper than the Mac Pro but the tradeoff is that you can’t expand it or upgrade it’s video card. The vid card it comes with is decent but I’m trying to think of the long term. So my question is, how important is a video card to doing video editing and rendering, and probably some graphics work as well. Thank you!

I have 2 GTX 580′s and I want to connect them. First of all do I use the Multi-GPU Cross Fire Video Link Card or the Multi-GPU SLI Video Link Card or both. Next question is last time I hooked the cards up by putting both on it and when I enabled the dual video cards on the Nvidia control panel the screen kept flashing and I had to turn it off. Was this because of low power supply or because I was only suppose to use on of the connecting strips. Lastly I don’t really think this matters but the way I connected them had the connectors bending up and I was wondering if this can mess with it.
